Iddon becomes the eighth different race winner in 2025 Bennetts BSB

21 September 2025

Christian Iddon claimed his first victory of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship season for AJN Steelstock Kawasaki, launching to the front of the pack in the wet conditions to hold off both Rory Skinner and Bradley Ray in the second race at the TT Circuit Assen.

Iddon was determined in the changing conditions and he launched off the line to lead the pack from Ray, Max Cook and Charlie Nesbitt on the opening lap. Skinner meanwhile had started 18th on the grid after a difficult race yesterday; he fought his way through the pack on the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati, and was into third place by lap five.

Iddon was holding the edge at the front, with Ray pushing to regain the ground he lost after a crash yesterday with Skinner and a hard-charging Leon Haslam holding the leading positions. Skinner moved into second at the Chicane on lap ten, with Ray shadowing him but despite the gap changing throughout the race to the front, Iddon was victorious at the chequered flag.

Skinner’s second place put him into joint third again in the standings with Haslam who dropped to fifth with three laps remaining, whilst Ray’s third place finish meant he gained ten points back on his title rival Kyle Ryde, who salvaged eighth on the final lap. The defending champion gained pace in the closing stages of the second race to regain ground, having run in 11th place for the first half of the race.

Tommy Bridewell battled to fourth place for Honda Racing UK in the closing stages ahead of Haslam and Nesbitt with Fraser Rogers back inside the top ten in seventh place for TAG Honda. Ryde was eighth as he made a move on Storm Stacey on the final lap, with John McPhee completing the top ten.
