Rory Skinner is setting his sights on further success as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship returns to the legendary TT Circuit Assen this weekend, with the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati rider aiming to add to his treble podium at Donington Park.
Skinner’s hat-trick of top three finishes means he arrives at the start of the Showdown this weekend, holding third place in the overall standings, four points ahead of Ducati rival Leon Haslam, but also hunting to close the deficit to Kyle Ryde and Bradley Ray ahead of him.
Skinner said: “Donington Park was an excellent weekend; it was really nice to have found a bit of form that we’ve had in the mid-season. The last three tracks have obviously been quite tough for me as it’s the last three that I missed from my broken leg last year, so it hasn’t been since 2022 that I last rode around them properly on a Superbike. It made life difficult, it wasn’t easy and it was nice to come back to Donington and finally make some forward progress again.
“We went out in free practice one and felt really comfortable straight away again and Donington seems to be a track that suits the Ducati a lot more than the likes of Cadwell Park, so I am really excited to get to Assen now.
“It's a track again that’s a lot like Donington Park, I just need to make sure I’m getting the most out of the bike. The Cheshire Mouldings team did an excellent job at Donington, we were practically making changes to the bike after every session, trying to chase the feeling that I was after, and we really managed to get that nailed down in the last race, and it showed. I felt the most comfortable I felt on the bike all year and I was able to put the bike where I wanted it to be quite comfortably.
“The last race was tough, Kyle was riding really well and to miss out after leading so many laps was a shame, but I’m ready to go to Assen and learn some more on the Ducati and we can hopefully be in the mix with Brad, Kyle and I expect Scott as well.”
