R&G British Talent Cup: Sparks boosts points lead with Race Two win

R&G British Talent Cup: Sparks boosts points lead with Race Two win

04 October 2025

Ethan Sparks will take an 18-point advantage into tomorrow’s final BTC showdown after taking victory in this evening’s race after a dramatic final lap.

The Kovara Projects/RS Racing rider took the lead on the opening lap and led until Lap Six when a charging Ryan Frost made a move stick and hit the front. By Lap Eight, Sparks had dropped to fourth as both Filip Surowiak and Mason Foster had found a way past but in typical BTC style, it was all to change in the final two laps.

With just over a lap to go, Sparks passed both Foster and Surowiak and then charged past leader Frost. Frost quickly took the spot back as they headed into the final lap, as Foster passed Surowiak to move into third.

Sparks then rode around the outside of Foster to hit the front once again and this time couldn’t be challenged, holding position to cross the line 0.126secs clear of Frost as Foster held onto third.

Surowiak had to settle for fourth with Harrison Mackay fifth, as Sparks picked up full points and boosted his lead over Surowiak.

Tomorrow’s finale will now be a battle between Sparks and Surowiak, with Sparks heading into the race with an 18 point advantage and just 25 more on the table.
