Jack Dunabie rode a faultless opening race to take victory by more than five seconds – as team-mate Ethan Sparks got the better of points rival Filip Surowiak to cross the line second.
Dunabie took the lead on the opening lap and wasted no time in building a gap. He wasn’t challenged again as he strolled to the win, 5.642secs clear of his Kovara Projects/RS Racing team-mate Sparks.
But it was the fight for second which was the big one, as Sparks battled with Surowiak all the way. Surowiak hit the front at the start of the final lap, but Sparks had already sized up a passing spot at Lodge on the penultimate lap and capitalise, hitting the front and charging to the line to beat Surowiak by 0.118secs.
Harrison Mackay was fourth with Ryan Frost fifth, as Sparks boosted his points lead to six over Surowiak with two races to go.
