Charlie Barnes splashed to the first race win of the weekend at a wet Oulton Park – as new champion Henry Snell crashed out.
In a race where several riders crashed, it looked like polesitter Snell had it in the bag as he led with a several second lead.
However, with two laps to go, he slipped off, promoting Barnes into the lead. Barnes kept his cool as the final laps ticked by, holding-off James Cook for victory.
Cook was second, ahead of a thrilled Kylan Shuttlewood who celebrated his first podium of the year as Ruben Sherman-Boyd was fourth and Freddy Oakley fifth.
