Rhys Irwin will be making a push towards what he hopes will be his first Supersport title from pole position after beating Oliver Barr by 0.312secs in qualifying this morning.
Irwin, who heads into this weekend four points clear of Ben Currie, clocked a best lap of 1min 26.871secs to secure pole ahead of this afternoon’s Sprint race.
This weekend, four riders are in with a chance of lifting the title. Along with Irwin and Currie, both defending champ Jack Kennedy and former champion Luke Stapleford are in the mix.
Kennedy will get his title defence underway from the front row after qualifying in third position, with Currie fourth and Stapleford sixth, as he lines up behind Eugene McManus who was fifth fastest this morning.
Keo Walker will lead the Cup runners, ahead of Stephen Thomas and Josh Bannister.
