Nikki Coates drew first blood at Brands Hatch this afternoon as he clocked the fastest lap of the final practice session of the year.
The LDC BMW by FPF Racing rider found a best lap of 1min 33.716secs to go 0.213secs clear of points leader Barry Burrell ahead of this weekend’s final showdown.
Third fastest and just over a second adrift of Coates was Josh Corner, who could still upset the applecart and steal the title from Coates or Burrell after a strong second half of the season, as Christian Smith was fourth with outgoing champ Thomas Strudwick fifth.
