Quattro Group British Supersport Championship: Kennedy takes control to lead opening day action

17 October 2025

Defending champion Jack Kennedy set the pace this afternoon to lead into Saturday as he bids to reclaim his crown this weekend.

But the Honda Racing UK rider was only just able to pip points leader Rhys Irwin to the fastest lap of the day, his best time of 1min 27.377secs keeping him ahead by just 0.076secs.

Behind, this morning’s leader Luke Stapleford could only manage the third best time, 0.409secs adrift of Kennedy as Eugene McManus was fourth and Oliver Barr fifth.

After a difficult opening session, Irwin’s main points rival Ben Currie again looked to be struggling in the second session and was only able to find the seventh best lap time of the day.

In the Cup class, Stephen Thomas led the way this afternoon, beating Josh Bannister by 0.264secs as Keo Walker was third.
