Bradley Ray set the fastest ever Bennetts British Superbike Championship lap time of Donington Park this afternoon to take the Omologato Pole Position for Raceways Yamaha, celebrating two consecutive pole positions.
Initially reigning champion Kyle Ryde had taken the leading position, dipping under the best ever lap time of the circuit to set the benchmark before Ray upped the pace to set a time 0.289s faster than the previous best time.
There was a red flag interruption for gravel at the Fogarty Esses, before Lee Jackson later crashed out at Coppice, bringing out a second red flag. When the session resumed there was nobody who could match their impressive pace, with the top five riders lapping under the existing circuit record.
Glenn Irwin completed the front row for Hager PBM Ducati, edging out Leon Haslam and Moto Rapido Ducati Racing as Tommy Bridewell salvaged an impressive fifth place after having to progress through Q1.
Max Cook completes the second row, ahead of Andrew Irwin, Rory Skinner, Josh Brookes and Danny Kent.
