Bradley Ray maintained his position ahead of his Bennetts British Superbike Championship rivals in the second race at Knockhill, celebrating victory for Raceways Yamaha as home hero Rory Skinner and Tommy Bridewell claimed podium finishes.
Ray was able to hit the front of the pack on the opening lap as he carved ahead of Kyle Ryde, Skinner, Fraser Rogers and Bridewell, and the Raceways Yamaha rider knew what he needed to do. He fired in consistently fast laps as he bridged a margin, whilst behind the chasing pack were trading positions.
Storm Stacey had a string of determined laps to move into second by lap two as Ryde was pushed back down the order on the OMG Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha. The Bathams AJN Racing BMW contender was pushing to hold off Skinner, but the home hero made a pass on the brakes into the Hairpin on lap eight to move the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati ahead.
Skinner was pushing to reel in Ray ahead of him in his first wet race on the Ducati, but in the closing stages, he had to settle for second, to take his fourth podium finish of the season. Stacey though was holding third until the final five laps when Bridewell made his attack to put himself back on the podium for Honda Racing UK.
Danny Kent had his best finish of the season for McAMS Racing Yamaha; he was able to take fourth from Stacey on the penultimate lap, with Fraser Rogers also celebrating his strongest result of the season in sixth place for TAG Honda.
Ryde ended the race in seventh place, ahead of Leon Haslam on the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing with Christian Iddon holding off Josh Brookes, who completed the top ten.
