Defending Supersport champ Jack Kennedy stole pole by a mere 0.001s from rival Luke Stapleford in a very close qualifying at Knockhill.
As the weather continued to improve, it became a very tight scrap between points leader Stapleford and the reigning champion, with Kennedy just edging out his rival with a lap of 49.564secs to Stapleford’s 49.565s effort.
It means the stage is set for another epic Sprint race this afternoon at the Dunfermline track – which is also bound to include several other rivals who were close in qualifying.
Oliver Barr will round out the front row aboard his Binch Pro Ducati, with Rhys Irwin in fourth place on the grid and Ben Currie alongside him in fifth.
Keo Walker was once again the fastest in the Cup class, clocking a 50.882s lap to line up 20th on the grid, with Ben Tolliday second among the Cup runners and Joe Farragher third.
