Filip Surowiak got the weekend off to a flying start as he clocked the best lap of FP1, 0.192secs clear of Jack Dunabie.
After more than a month since the last round, Surowiak stormed to a 1min 36.343sec lap as action got underway, with Dunabie holding onto second from Clayton Edmunds.
Championship leader Ryan Frost was fourth quickest in the opening session, with Ethan Sparks rounding out the top five.
