Championship leader Rhys Irwin was back on top this morning as Round Five got underway, beating Jack Kennedy to the best lap by 0.022secs.
The Performance 15 Suzuki rider clocked a best lap of 1min 28.471secs to go clear at the top of the timesheets, with reigning champ Kennedy just behind on his Honda Racing UK machine.
Ben Currie was third quickest for the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing squad, with Dean Harrison fourth and Eugene McManus rounding out the top five.
In the Cup class, it was Joe Farragher who drew first blood, with Keo Walker second and Stephen Thomas third.
