Bridewell and Honda Racing UK building for Brands Hatch return

21 July 2025

Tommy Bridewell heads to Brands Hatch this weekend (July 25/26/27) bidding to build on his previous Bennetts British Superbike Championship success at the Kent circuit with Honda Racing UK as he targets a return to the podium.

Bridewell admits the visit to the Grand Prix circuit is amongst his favourite on the calendar, evoking memories of title glory in 2023 and being part of one of the greatest races of all time in the championship-deciding season finale with Kyle Ryde last year.

Bridewell has been on the podium three times so far this season and the 2023 champion is characteristically determined to gain ground on his rivals this weekend.

Bridewell said: “I always look forward to the weekend at Brands Hatch. For me going into this weekend, I am looking forward to it more so because I have such amazing memories there from lifting the championship title in 2023, and then always having strong results there as it suits my riding style quite well. Obviously most recently, being part of probably one of the best races, arguably of British Superbike history between myself and Kyle last year for the championship.

“So there are some very, very fond memories there and it is a circuit of two halves for me. The Honda worked really strong in certain areas of the circuit and then in others we suffered a little bit. I think this year for me has been very hard to predict our performance beforehand if I am honest. Some rounds we have been going to where I think, right hopefully we have found a slightly better direction with the bike, and it’s not quite worked for us. Snetterton was obviously a really strong round and then into Knockhill, it was ok, but the weather certainly made it a lot more difficult.

“So it’s a tough one to judge how our performance will be if I am honest. But I think from mine and Honda’s side it is the usual; we are leaving no stone unturned, we are working hard and we are trying to find solutions to make the bike better so that we can be where we need and want to be.”
