BMW Motorrad Motorsport and Shaun Muir Racing are entering a new era together. After six years of shared success in the FIM Superbike World Championship, the partnership will now expand into the BMW Motorrad Motorsport Customer Racing Programme, strengthening BMW’s commitment to British racing and future talent development.
As long-standing partners in running the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, SMR has played a central role in the development of the BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR. Together, the collaboration has celebrated back-to-back FIM Superbike World Championships with Toprak Razgatlioglu, underlining the strength of the partnership at the highest level of competition.
From today, customer teams can place orders for race-prepared Superstock machines based on the BMW M 1000 RR, with deliveries scheduled for Q1 2026 ahead of the 2026 season. SMR Performance will assemble and supply the motorcycles, alongside a comprehensive technical service that includes parts supply, development expertise, and dedicated trackside support. Customer teams will benefit directly from the same processes and standards proven in WorldSBK competition.
In parallel, SMR Performance and BMW Motorrad Motorsport will launch a targeted support and incentive programme for riders and teams competing in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship from 2026 onwards. The programme is designed to support competitive performance while creating a clear pathway from Superstock racing into the British Superbike Championship.
The support package includes technical and data assistance, structured testing opportunities, and season-long promotion, complemented by a performance-based incentive scheme. The headline reward sees a total of £10,000 of bonuses for BMW riders, reinforcing BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s continued investment in British racing and its commitment to rewarding success on track.
Uwe Geyer, Head of BMW Motorrad Customer Racing commented: “Our Customer Racing Programme is built around providing confidence and continuity for teams. With SMR Performance leading the programme in the UK, we are offering customer teams access to proven machinery, experienced technical support, and a structured environment focused on long-term progression.”
Lewis Muir, General Manager, SMR Performance said: “This is a proud step for everyone at SMR. Our journey with BMW Motorrad Motorsport has been built on performance, trust, and constant improvement. By extending that knowledge into customer racing, we can help teams and riders compete at a high level and build towards their next stage in British Superbikes.”
