As the Bennetts British Superbike Championship returns to Thruxton this weekend, McAMS Racing Yamaha and Danny Kent are aiming to build on their recent momentum and extend their run of strong results.
Kent sits fifth in the championship standings following a standout performance at Brands Hatch that saw the team climb two positions and gain valuable momentum after delivering a superb string of podium finishes, consistently battling at the front and showcasing strong race pace aboard the Yamaha R1.
After a challenging start to the year, that breakthrough weekend provided a crucial confidence boost. With Thruxton, a circuit where the R1 has historically thrived, optimism within the team is running high. The McAMS-backed squad enjoyed a competitive outing at the Hampshire circuit last year, fighting at the front and securing an impressive pair of hard-fought podiums.
Kent said: “After the success and step forward we made at Brands Hatch, I’m really looking forward to getting to Thruxton. It’s a track that I love and is well suited to the Yamaha, so we go into the weekend with high expectations and to be back on the box. We were very competitive there in 2024 and we’ve got the bike in a sweet spot, so there’s no reason why we can’t.
“I’m really happy with how things have been coming together lately. Brands Hatch was a big step forward for us, we’ve found a good rhythm, and I’m feeling more and more comfortable on the bike. Thruxton’s always been a strong circuit for the R1, so we’re coming into the weekend with confidence. The aim is to keep the momentum going, stay consistent, and fight for that top step.”
