Max Cook is targeting a return to the podium this weekend at Thruxton following his best result in the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship last time out at Brands Hatch with a fifth place for the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki team.
Cook scored his first top three finish at the Hampshire circuit and following a positive weekend last time out, the local contender is hoping for home success.
Cook said: “I am feeling pretty good after Brands Hatch. We got our best result of the year, which was a top five, in the dry as well, which was nice. We had good speed all weekend, the team made a good step forward, me and Christian [Iddon] were both quite far up the field, which was obviously a massive positive and that gives us good momentum for the rest of the year, just with how the calendar is being every other weekend.
“Thruxton is my favourite track for sure. I’ve done well there the past two times we’ve been there. I feel like there’s no reason why I couldn’t be up the front again; the bike hasn’t changed and I’ve obviously improved over the last few years, so my goal is to be on the podium again 100 percent. Even if I could win a race that would be really cool, so I am really looking forward to it and we’re in a great place as a team with some good momentum behind us for the second half of the season.”
