Barry Burrell and Nikki Coates made easy work of today’s two Heat races as they celebrated a win apiece at Cadwell Park.
James Bull had what looked like the better start as Heat One began, but within half a lap, Burrell had found his way through and was already starting to build a bit of a gap as the pack started Lap Two.
From there, it was all about extending his lead as Bull was left on his own running in second position, while behind, the main fight became for third between Scott Carson and Christian Smith.
Burrell crossed the line 6.012secs clear of Bull, as Carson took third from Smith and Dave Grace rounded out the top five.
Heat Two proved to be a very similar eight laps. Coates got a good start from pole, as did Kieran Smith, who moved ahead on the opening lap to start Lap Two in the lead.
But Coates wasted no time in getting the place back and was ahead by Coppice on the second lap. Like Burrell, once ahead the points leader was able to edge a gap to his rivals Smith and Josh Corner who were scrapping for second place.
Their fight ran all the way to the flag as the pair swapped positions, only for Corner to make the final move on the last lap to get ahead, taking second position by a mere 0.060s from Smith. Joe Walton took fourth and Arnie Shelton fifth.
