Bradley Ray and Raceways Yamaha topped the opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship Free Practice session at Cadwell Park, with just 0.031s separating him from defending champion Kyle Ryde at the chequered flag.
Tommy Bridewell had a strong session for Honda Racing UK in third, with the top three all in the 1m:25s lap times and 0.943s covering the top 11 riders. Storm Stacey climbed to fourth in the session on the Bathams AJN Racing BMW, edging out Leon Haslam, who topped yesterday’s Official Test.
Charlie Nesbitt was sixth fastest for MasterMac Honda, ahead of McAMS Racing Yamaha’s Danny Kent and Andrew Irwin on the second of the Honda Racing UK machines. Rory Skinner on the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati and Max Cook completed the top ten, despite the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki crashing towards the closing stages at Mansfield.
