Glenn Irwin is continuing his adaption to the Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha following his move to the team ahead of the previous Bennetts British Superbike Championship round at Thruxton.
Irwin is continuing his comeback from injury this weekend at Cadwell Park for the Bank Holiday weekend, ending last night’s Official Test in tenth position as he adapts to the different characteristics of the Yamaha R1.
Irwin said: “I am looking forward to getting back out again with another two weeks of getting fitter and more training. The R1, we felt from Thruxton that we understand the strengths of the bike and also the areas where we need to improve the feeling for me, and that was the objective of the test last night.
“It gave us time to try to find the feeling on the front, and I think we can then start looking deeper into the points and recovering back to where we want to be. It’ll take time and the team have been extremely understanding of the situation, we’ve been through and we’ll just keep working away and getting closer to the front.”
