Leon Haslam fired the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing team to the top of the times in the closing moments of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Official Test at Cadwell Park, becoming the only rider to break into the 1m:25s lap times ahead of tomorrow’s Free Practice.
Haslam’s pace-setting lap came in the final five minutes of the test, launching him ahead of championship leader Bradley Ray and Danny Kent, who surged into third place.
Honda Racing UK’s Tommy Bridewell bounced back from a technical problem at the beginning of the session, which caused a red flag, to end the session fourth fastest with Charlie Nesbitt separating him from his team-mate Andrew Irwin.
Kyle Ryde was seventh fastest for Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha, ahead of Storm Stacey, who had been running in second until the closing 20 minutes of the session for Bathams AJN Racing BMW.
Rory Skinner was ninth for Cheshire Mouldings Ducati, just ahead of Glenn Irwin on his second appearance with Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha TO
