ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup: Burrell grabs first Main Event win of year

10 August 2025

Barry Burrell powered to his first Main Event win of the 2025 season as he beat Josh Corner by 2.961secs at the end of a frantic 10-lap battle.

Polesitter James Bull got the holeshot but the battle for the lead raged between him, Burrell and points leader Nikki Coates in the opening laps before Burrell finally cleared them on Lap Four to hit the front and start building a lead.

As the Halliwell Jones Motorrad rider cleared off ahead, the fight was for the remaining podium places between Josh Corner, Coates and Bull – and it went all the way to the final corner of the final lap.

Bull had just passed Corner to move into second on the penultimate lap but as the trio were joined by Kieran Smith in a last-gasp scrap at the end of the lap, he had dropped to third and then crashed out at the chicane.

Burrell was already over the line as Corner celebrated second and his best result as Smith took third. Coates crossed the line a very close fourth with Christian Smith fifth.
