R&G British Talent Cup: Surowiak doubles up with close win over Mackay

10 August 2025

Filip Surowiak extended his championship lead in the second BTC race of the weekend as he beat Harrison Mackay by 0.273secs.

Polesitter Ethan Sparks had led off the line but within a handful of laps Surowiak began to pester him and the pair began swapping lead until Lap 10, when the City Lifting Team rider got ahead and began to control the race.

But in typical BTC style, it wasn’t over until the last lap and Sparks was determined to steal it back, hitting the front as Joshua Raymond Jnr also found his way past.

However, Surowiak wasn’t done and within seconds had stormed back past both into the lead to take the win, as the next four riders fought to the line, with Mackay grabbing the runner-up spot at the flag.

Ryan Frost took third, just 0.128secs behind Mackay as Raymond Jnr finished fourth with Sparks rounding out the top five.
