Defending champion Ben Currie took charge in today’s second free practice at Donington Park to end the opening day on top.
His best lap of 1min 31.281secs was enough to take him 0.079secs clear of Luke Stapleford, as TJ Toms banked the third best lap, just 0.035secs adrift of Stapleford.
Eugene McManus was fourth quickest aboard the ROKiT Haslam Racing Ducati, as Jack Kennedy rounded out the top five.
It was business as usual in the GP2 class as champion Owen Jenner stormed into the top 10 to lead his GP2 rivals, with Jack Nixon second – albeit 16 places behind Jenner – and Leo Walker third.
Tom Tunstall led the Cup entries, with ROKiT Rookie Joe Farragher second and Lewis Jones third.
