Macadam Triumph Racing’s Luke Stapleford set the pace at Oulton Park today as he topped the timesheets in both sessions to take charge of the opening day’s action.
Stapleford had led the way in this morning’s opening practice as he beat reigning champ Ben Currie by 0.242secs as former champ Jack Kennedy was third.
And he did it again in FP2, this time clocking a best lap of 1min: 36.753secs to go 0.379secs clear of Kennedy.
Third fastest at the end of Day One was Kennedy’s Honda Racing UK team-mate Dean Harrison, as Currie finished fourth and Richard Cooper was fifth aboard the Russell Racing Yamaha.
ROKiT Rookie Mikey Hardie was back on top once again in the Cup class, as he led Cameron Hall, the pair ending the day 21 and 22 overall respectively, with points leader Adon Davie third.
With the GP2 title already sewn up, newly crowned champ Owen Jenner was quickest in class with a time of 1min:40.972 set during this morning’s session as he sat out the afternoon run.
Keo Walker was second quickest of the Cup runners with Lucca Allen third.
