Team SBR have announced that former Grand Prix racer Jeremy McWilliams will line up this weekend at the Brands Hatch season finale for the team in the ABK Beer 0% BMW Motorrad F 900 R Cup onboard the Belgrave Motors BMW F 900 R.
McWilliams joins the team for the season finale from competing stateside in the MotoAmerica Super Hooligan National Championship and King of the Baggers. A four-time Irish Champion, McWilliams is most widely regarded for his time in the Grand Prix paddock where he competed in the 250cc and 500cc classes, celebrating podium finishes.
McWilliams said: “It’s really nice to be back at BSB 14 years after clinching the XR1200 championship with Warrs. It is great to be working with my good friend Brogie, SB RACING and Adrian at Belgrave Motors. I’m a novice in this class so expecting a few lessons from the young bucks, but I am really looking forward to being back at one of my favourite circuits. The first time I won a 250 Super Cup race at Brands Hatch was 1992, so it would be nice to repeat that this weekend.”
Team manager, Steve Brogan commented: “It’s such an honour to have a racing legend and good friend like Jeremy riding in our team this weekend. I deeply admire Jeremy’s commitment and speed after all these years. As always I will be on hand to offer my coaching services as and when he may need it!”
