Joe Talbot took bragging rights at the end of Day One at Donington Park, as he beat Ash Beech to the best lap of the day by 0.324secs.
As FP1 leader Davey Todd was forced to retire from the session with technical problems, Talbot banked a 1min 29.906sec lap to go top, with Beech second and Tom Ward third.
Todd managed to hold onto fourth, just ahead of Josh Owens.
