Lewis Rollo leads the standings in the BSB Pathway class after the opening three rounds of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and the IN Competition SENCAT Aprilia rider is now aiming high for his home round of Knockhill (14/15/16 June).
Rollo scored his first championship points last time out at Donington Park, whilst also celebrating the team’s most successful weekend in the championship to date with a 13th place finish in race two. The Scottish contender also leads the way in the R&G Rising Stars league for the rookie riders in the series, so now he has high hopes of giving the home fans something to celebrate.
Rollo said: “The BSB Pathway class has been brilliant for us this season to move up and it has been a great opportunity for me and the team to get into the championship and start learning with the more experienced riders. We have had a good season so far; Navarra was a bit of a write off, as we never really got going there. But back home to Oulton Park and we had three wins in the Pathway class, three top 20 finishes and the fastest lap of the circuit that I have ever done and also for the Aprilia, so that was really good going into Donington Park.
“We then hit the ground running at Donington Park as well, trying different things with the bike and kept improving our pace to get quicker and quicker. Race one we had another top 20 finish and then race two, doing my fastest ever time around the circuit, and then also getting main championship points which was a big thing for me and the team. That is what our aim has been this season so far, to score points and that was another brilliant weekend.
“Now we head to Knockhill and my home round, which I can’t wait for! I just want to try to keep the momentum from Donington Park and try to fight towards the points again and pick up a few more points finishes; that would be mega. If we can have a few more BSB Pathway wins too and to try and keep the lead in the Rookies’ standings too would be a big thing and a real positive. We have a lot to look forward to, the times are always close at Knockhill so hopefully we won’t be far away and I can have a strong home round.”
