Billy McConnell took the C&L Fairburn Properties/Look Forward Racing Honda team to their best ever finish in their debut season of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Knockhill with a hard-fought finish of fifth place in race three.
The C&L Fairburn Properties/Look Forward Racing Honda team joined the Superbike grid this season after progressing from the Superstock series and McConnell’s determined efforts at the Scottish round, rewarded them with a top five finish after only 11 races.
McConnell said: “Knockhill was fantastic for us as a team with a seventh and a fifth. The fifth place in the last race topped off the weekend in the last race especially as they were tricky conditions. For us it was great to get some really good points and be up at the sharp end like we used to be in Superstock so we are looking forward to Snetterton.
“We have had some good results at Snetterton in the Superstock races before, but it is a totally different ball game on the Superbike! We want to keep the momentum rolling and hopefully we can get some more good results next weekend.”
