Ryan Vickers is ready to bounce back after the disappointment of Knockhill as he bids for home glory during his home round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Snetterton this weekend.
The OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider was a double race winner at the season opener at Circuito de Navarra, but the Thetford baser contender endured a tough weekend last time out at Knockhill with a crash and then sidelined with sickness.
Now he is ready to bounce back at Snetterton as he targets his first top three finish at his home round in a bid to get back on the podium and climb back up the standings.
“I am really excited to get back to Snetterton and also to hopefully get some momentum going in the season again,” said Vickers.
“We have had a bit of a run recently with a couple of mistakes from me and a fair bit of bad luck as well and things that have been out of my control like at Knockhill, which was a shame as I thought we could have had a strong Sunday, especially in the wet conditions. I had two wins in the wet last year shows that it is strong conditions for me so it was a shame to miss out on a chance in that and also those points.
“I had some bad luck at Snetterton for my home race last year, but we finished off with a nice fourth place in the final race and was battling for the podium. I really feel like this year with the bike and the improvements, plus how I have been riding, I think we can have a great round.
“It is the only circuit on the calendar that I haven’t had a podium, so it would be a really nice one to tick off the list for my home fans as I get a lot of support there and it is a great atmosphere and I get boosted by that to do even better."
