Ben Currie powered to the best Supersport lap of the day as he clocked a 1min 28.514s lap in second free practice to lead Richard Cooper at the end of day one at Brands Hatch.
The Oxford Products Racing Ducati man emerged just 0.078secs quicker than his Russell Racing rival, as Honda Racing UK’s Jack Kennedy was third.
Luke Stapleford finished the session in fourth position, as Eugene McManus rounded out the top five.
It was Owen Jenner who led the GP2 class this time, as team-mate Jack Nixon was second, ahead of Keo Walker.
And in the Cup class, Mikey Hardie continued his strong form to lead the way, clocking the 15th best time overall. Cameron Hall was second fastest of the Cup runners, ahead of Tom Tunstall.
