Irwin pushing to extend advantage as Brands Hatch beckons

Glenn Irwin holds the edge in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship standings by just a slender four points as the title chase reaches Brands Hatch and the Hager PBM Ducati rider has high hopes for another strong performance in Kent.

Irwin arrives at Brands Hatch off the back of a double win last time out at Snetterton, taking his winning tally to six for the season as he returns to the venue which saw him just miss out on the title last October by half a point after winning two of the three races.

Irwin said: “As I always do, I’m looking forward to going to Brands Hatch and hoping we can get some more wins under our belt. I have a great feeling with the bike and I’m feeling good in myself so hopefully we can carry that energy forward from the previous round.

“I’m grateful to the whole team for what they are giving me and there’s a great buzz within the team. We need to continue working on our package as we still need to improve in a couple of areas and I need to keep adapting to various factors also, as we have different strengths and weaknesses compared to last year.

“Brands Hatch is one of most iconic racetracks in the world and there’s always a great crowd so let’s go and put on a show again.”
