Reigning Champion Tommy Bridewell returns to Brands Hatch this weekend for the first time since celebrating the Bennetts British Superbike Championship title victory last October and the Honda Racing UK rider is looking to overhaul his fierce rival Glenn Irwin as they vie for the advantage.
Arriving at the Kent circuit, Bridewell trails Irwin by just four points and after relinquishing the lead at the last round, the defending Champion remains defiantly confident, having secured nine podiums in fifteen races so far.
Bridewell said: “The last time we raced at Brands Hatch I won the championship so I have some really good memories of racing there last year. It makes me excited to go back and feel those memories again as you’re driving in.
“I’m really enjoying my racing at the minute and enjoying working with the team, developing this new Fireblade and fighting at the front with Honda. We’ve managed to build up some solid momentum so we just need to keep this going.
“I’m just really excited to see all the things we are working on coming together. I’m heading to Brands Hatch fully motivated for the weekend and ready to kick things into another gear.”
