Quattro Group British Supersport & GP2/HEL Supersport Cup: Stapleford stays in control to head day one

Luke Stapleford picked up where he left off in FP1 to stay at the top of the timesheets in combined practice at Thruxton.

The Macadam Triumph Racing rider improved on his best time from this morning as he clocked a 1min 17.079s lap in this afternoon’s session, beating Jack Kennedy by 0.083secs.

Alastair Seeley ended the day sitting in third place, just ahead of reigning champ Ben Currie, as Cameron Dawson rounded-out the top five.

Once again, the Cup runners were ahead of the GP2 rides, as ROKiT Rookie Mikey Hardie continued his dominant run to finish P1 in the class and p12 overall, as Adon Davie was second and Lewis Jones third.

Owen Jenner stayed in control in GP2, with Jack Nixon second ahead of Keo Walker.
