Nikki Coates ended the opening day at Thruxton at the top of the timesheets after clocking a best lap of 1min 22.697secs in this afternoon’s second practice session.
It was enough to keep the charging Smith twins at bay, as he beat Christina by 0.093secs as Kieran finished third, just 0.027secs adrift of his brother.
Mason Johnson, who led this morning’s times, was fourth as points leader Thomas Strudwick could only manage the fifth best lap.
