R&G British Talent Cup: Frost wins five-way battle for race one victory

03 August 2024

Ryan Frost claimed a hard fought opening race win in the R&G British Talent Cup at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix at Silverstone, taking the chequered flag in an incredibly close race where the top five riders were covered by just 0.427s.

On the opening lap, Amanuel Brinton and Lucas Brown were tussling for the advantage, but it became a seven-way dice for the lead between Frost, Harrison Mackay, Brinton, Julian Correa and George Bowes with Clayton Edmunds and Scott Mcphee also in the mix.

At half race distance, the leading trio had begun to try to make a breakaway with Frost, Brown and Brinton scrapping for the victory as Correa had moved into fourth to lead the second pack of riders ahead of Mackay and Bowes.

Over the final four laps, it returned to a five-way battle for victory with Correa storming to the front of the field ahead of Brinton, Frost, Mackay and Brown.

Brown started the final lap in the lead ahead of Brinton before the positions changed again with the Kovara Projects / RS Racing rider taking the advantage.

Correa then led into Becketts for the final time, but Frost then grabbed the advantage as he took his third race win of the season from Brown, Correa, Brinton and Mackay.
