Nikki Coates and Christian Smith took a win each in this afternoon’s ABK Beer 0% BMW Motorrad F900 R Cup Heat races, as the second was called early after rain hit.
Coates emerged the victor following a race-long battle with Barry Burrell, the Art of Racing/Ernie Coates Trackdays rider eventually taking the win by 0.238secs after a last lap battle to the line.
Robert Varey was third, with Josh Wainwright fourth and Rob McNealey fifth.
In Heat Two, Thomas Strudwick had taken the lead from polesitter James Ellison and had more than a second in hand when the rain appeared.
Smith seemed to quickly get to grips with the conditions and moved from fourth into the lead in just a lap and was ahead when the red flag came out on lap six of nine, to take the win.
Ellison had also found a way past Strudwick to take second, as Strudwick made do with third ahead of James Kelly and James O’Mara
