The Pirelli National Sportbike Championship debuted this year as a support class to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and after pioneering the new regulations in 2024, next year these will be adopted in both the Italian CIV and German IDM series in 2025.
The new class currently features four of the leading manufacturers with Aprilia, Kawasaki, Triumph and Yamaha all competing, with prospective entries from other manufacturers imminent. The series has attracted a host of upcoming talent battling against more established contenders. This year from the first five rounds, six different riders have celebrated podium success.
Bennetts British Superbike Championship Series Director Stuart Higgs commented: “I am delighted that the Sportbike class will feature from next year in both the IDM series in Germany and the Italian CIV Championship, adopting the regulations that already feature in our Pirelli National Sportbike class.
“We debuted the Sportbike class this year and set the early foundations for this new series and now working closely together with the national championships in Europe, the regulations will be united throughout the key national series.”
