Nikki Coates became the second person in history to take an ABK Beer 0% BMW Motorrad F 900 R Cup main race win after beating Mason Johnson by a whisker at Circuito de Navarra.
Johnson had led from late in lap one as Coates and 2023 runner-up Thomas Strudwick swapped second and third positions, but after a small mistake on the penultimate lap, Coates capitalised and charged ahead.
With a lap to go, Johnson tried his best to get back ahead and although he tried to use the slipstream to pass across the line, he had to settle for second, 0.002secs behind.
Strudwick was third, ahead of Christian Smith, with Barry Burrell rounding out the top five.
