Irwin jumps ahead of Ryde after session three at Circuito de Navarra

17 April 2024

Glenn Irwin fired the Hager PBM Ducati to the top of the times in the morning session of the second day of the R&G Official Test at Circuito de Navarra today, edging out yesterday’s pacesetter Kyle Ryde by 0.140s ahead of lunch.

Irwin had been building momentum during the morning session, with Ryde initially improving his time from yesterday as he became the first rider to dip under the 1m:37s lap time in the early stages of the third session. Irwin though responded and was able to edge ahead, with the pair the only riders within the 1m:36s lap window.

Ryan Vickers made it an OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider 2-3 on the standings, whilst Danny Kent also carried Yamaha’s momentum to post the fourth fastest time on the McAMS Racing Yamaha, nudging reigning champion Tommy Bridewell back into fifth place on the first of the Honda Racing UK machines.

Christian Iddon moved up the order into sixth place ahead of Rory Skinner on the leading BMW for the Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad team, with Charlie Nesbitt, Josh Brookes and Danny Buchan completing the top ten ahead of lunch.
