Skinner building on Bennetts BSB return

Rory Skinner is set for his Bennetts British Superbike Championship racing return this weekend at the season opener at Circuito de Navarra as the Scot debuts with the Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad Team.

Skinner has been a podium finisher in Bennetts BSB before, and after a year in the Moto2 World Championship, he is determined to make an impression on his return to the Championship. The Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad Team completed a single day of testing at Donington Park, opting to sit out day two, but are confident ahead of the next test at Circuito de Navarra.

Skinner said: “So the first official test at Donington Park for me was really good actually. It was nice to meet the team for the first time and to ride the Cheshire Mouldings BMW for the first time. The Saturday was really productive for us, we managed to get through quite a lot of the stuff that we set out to do and the initial feeling on the bike was really good.

“I was really happy with how quickly I clicked with it and it felt like we made decent progress in the time that we had on it. We just focused on trying different things, understanding which direction we needed to go, so by the end of the first day I was quite happy with the progress we’d made.

“Unfortunately we didn’t ride on the second day due to the weather, we didn’t feel for us it was going to be beneficial for the stage we’re at with the bike, so we decided to sit the day out and save a day of testing for another time in the year.

“In general, I’m really looking forward to Navarra, we’re going to have another two and a half days of testing there so it should be a really exciting time ahead of the first round. I’m feeling ready to go, really looking forward to being back racing in BSB and I think it’s going to be a fantastic first round.”
