Kieran Kent led the way as the Donington Park action got underway this morning, beating Harrison Crosby with a best lap of 1min 43.808secs.
Kent dominated the bright but damp session, which was shortened by a few minutes following a red flag, beating Crosby by 1.082secs.
Championship leader Aaron Silvester was third as the flag came out, with Oisin Maher fourth and Declan Connell fifth.
