Championship leader Ben Currie will head the grid for today’s Supersport Sprint race after banking a best lap of 1min 37.587secs in qualifying.

The Oxford Products Racing rider powered himself into pole position with his hot lap, set in the final minute of this morning’s qualifying session, to lead Tom Booth-Amos by 0.161secs.

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Booth-Amos also waited until late to make his move, as he shot up to second shortly after the flag, knocking Jaimie van Sikkelerus down to third.

Rhys Irwin, currently second in the points behind leader Currie, could only manage the fourth best time and will head row two, alongside yesterday’s leader Richard Cooper, back out on the BPE Yamaha.

Cameron Fraser continued to rule the GP2 class, ending qualifying 17th overall and will start two places ahead of Harvey Claridge with Owen Mellor the third highest placed GP2 runner in 24th position.
