Evan Belford made a late run to clinch pole ahead of the weekend’s opening race, banking a lap of 1min 40.167s in the closing moments of qualifying to beat Sullivan Mounsey by 0.109s.
Mounsey – who missed first practice to sit a GCSE exam yesterday – will line up second on the grid with Ryan Frost third.
Harrison Dessoy, who led both Friday sessions, will head row two in fourth place with Alexander Rowan fifth.
