Max Cook will make his debut on FS-3 Racing’s Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki at Monteblanco in Spain as the 20-year old gets his first opportunity to test the ZX-10RR ahead of his rookie campaign in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
Cook steps up to the Superbike class after celebrating success in the Pirelli Junior Superstock Championship last year, joining the team alongside Lee Jackson as they kick off their pre-season testing programme with following track time at Almeria and Navarra before returning to the UK.
Cook said: “It’s time to get cracking now and it is starting to feel real now! I feel a little bit nervous, but that is to be expected and I have prepared as much as I can. I haven’t been to the test tracks before, so I have been trying to learn Monteblanco by watching onboards so I am as ready as I can be.
“It’s really exciting, the first test for me and the team is just to get me feeling like the bike is mine and get comfortable on it. It will obviously be so much faster than the Junior Superstock bike from last season, so I want to get used to it. I have been lucky enough to be able to ride a Superstock bike a couple of times over the winter, just to get the feeling of the power difference. It’s a massive jump to the Superbike and will be a lot of new things for me to try, so I am very excited to get started.”
