Scott celebrates first championship point at Knockhill

27 June 2023

Reigning Quattro Group British GP2 Champion Jack Scott is looking ahead to Snetterton after scoring his first Bennetts British Superbike Championship point last time out at Knockhill with the Rapid CDH Racing Kawasaki team.

In his rookie campaign, Scott has been building momentum after switching to the Superbike class, and with a best result of 15th in race two at Knockhill, he is now eager to add to his tally when the championship returns to Snetterton next weekend.

Scott said: “We knew going to Knockhill for the first time on the Superbike wasn’t going to be easy, but I went with an open and positive mind-set. After Friday practice, we knew that we had a good setup and if we could get away with the group ahead, we would be around where we want to be.

“Race one didn’t go to plan getting pushed wide into turn one and losing the group ahead, but the times showed we had the pace to stay there for race two on Sunday. After a good start in race two, I was over the moon to walk away with my first point in the BSB class having kept a good pace for the entire race.

“This year has definitely been the biggest challenge in my racing career to date, but I am happy with the progress that both myself and the team are making. There is still a lot more to learn but it is now just about putting all the pieces together. I am looking forward to Snetterton it has always been a good track for me in past so I am I looking forward to seeing what I can do on the Superbike there.”
