Ben Currie ended the first day at Knockhill at the top of the timesheets as he powered to a 49.629sec lap aboard his Oxford Products Racing Ducati.
The Australian denied Kramer Racing’s Joe Collier taking the top spot by 0.051s as Tom Booth-Amos could only manage the third best time on his Gearlink Kawasaki.
Rhys Irwin continued to keep the Suzuki near the sharp end as he finished fourth overall, just ahead of this morning’s leader, Eugene McManus in fifth.
Collier’s strong form in P2 kept him 16 places ahead of Cameron Fraser on the next GP2 machine as Lucca Allen rounded out the top three in class.
