Quattro Group British Supersport and British GP2 Championships: Stapleford holds off Irwin for pole

Luke Stapleford will line up on pole position for today’s Sprint race after beating Rhys Irwin to the top spot by 0.265s.

The Profile Road & Racing Performance rider set the pace with a 1min 51.510sec lap, as Irwin’s Astro JJR Suzuki was able to hold off Zak Corderoy by 0.99s to secure second.

Fourth and leading the second row this afternoon will be Tom Booth-Amos, who lines up alongside Ben Currie in fifth.

Joe Collier continued to lead the way in the GP2  class, taking class pole in 14th position with Cameron Fraser second and Harvey Claridge third.
