Luke Stapleford found something extra in second free practice as he hit the top spot 0.399secs clear of Rhys Irwin.
Following his p5 this morning, Stapleford took control in the afternoon, clocking a best lap of 1min 52.246secs.
It was enough to keep him on top as the lap times tumbled, as Irwin managed to hold off Ben Currie to end the day second.
Australia’s Tom Toparis, quickest this morning, could only find the fourth best lap during session two as Zak Corderoy was fifth.
Joe Collier’s Kramer led the GP2 class, ahead of Cameron Fraser with Harry Rowlings third.
