Glenn Irwin moved to the top of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Free Practice times this morning, as the BeerMonster Ducati rider upped the pace to move ahead of yesterday’s pace-setter Ryan Vickers in the final five minutes of the session.
The positions changed between the leading three riders throughout the closing stages of the session but Irwin emerged ahead of Vickers and FHO Racing BMW Motorrad Team’s Josh Brookes who completed the top three.
Danny Kent had another strong session in fourth place on the Lovell Kent Racing Honda, as four different teams and manufacturers held positions inside the top four, with Danny Buchan having a positive Free Practice 3 to end fifth fastest.
Jason O'Halloran was sixth fastest for McAMS Yamaha just ahead of championship leader Tommy Bridewell, who had a small crash at Druids in the final five minutes of the session. He maintained his position ahead of Kyle Ryde, Lee Jackson and Leon Haslam who completed the top ten ahead of Free Practice 4.
